Have you actually weighed your bike or are you subtracting from the original claimed dry weight?

48 Tooth Alloy Renthal Sprocket coming next week.........Should be a good saving over steel.

I didn't manage to go to 520 gauge chain and sprocket because the sprocket was proving very difficult to find,so i'm sticking with 525,but switching to a 48/15 gearing (should be fun).

I've got a certified weighbridge in a nearby town and been meaning to pay the few bucks to get the Shiver weighed. Will try to remember next time I'm in Lismore - I think I can handle the truth.

    Hi Simmo,

I will find out from my dealer exactly where he got the front sprocket, but i know he got the rear one made up as a special order by Renthal. It was only about £40 though. If you want to call the dealer direct,it is Wheel Power,Raynes Park (Aprilia main dealer) and my contact is the parts manager Adrian.

Hey DUD, I'm pretty much where you are on the weight reduction (with a few variations). I've had the big M12 engine & frame nuts & bolts changed for Ti - that's about another half a kilo gone...
Also those 8 steel rocker cover screws are surprisingly heavy - I've replaced with countersunk Ti and alloy anodised cone washers. The only other thing additional I have are the one-off Raptor Ti footrests & pivot pins.

Any pics of your bike? It would be great to see!

hey Dud & Clint, have either of thought using a public weighbridge to get some real numbers for your bikes? Its something I've been meaning to do with mine, just out of curiosity.

DownUnder, how much money did you spend?
If you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room.

Hmmm, more than I initially planned For me, it all part of the hobby. I tend to keep a bike for at least 5 years and constaintly improve it. I enjoy doing as much of the work myself and exploring improvements & solutions to problem areas.

A lot of my parts also come 2nd hand... (always chasing & scoring 2nd hand bargains online).
If not 2nd hand, I'll buy up online from the US when ever there are specials on. (ie. like black friday & cyber monday...)

Any when the time comes to move on to something else, I'll put most of the stock parts back on and either transfer or on-sell the good stuff on ebay. This has worked out well for me to date...
