Description: This Mod brings new weapons/maps/pickups to UT. More than that, you'll be able to "pilot" some interesting things... Like a giant Mech, or a neat Spaceship. Also, you can wear some nice suits... Why not a high-armored suit? It's up to you. To complete the set, Neo Cairo brings some new gametypes to fit everyone's taste.
Story: Mankind's exodus from the ravaged Earth has been violently cut short by the collective alien military from a neighboring solar system. Quarantined within the orbit of their own moon, the human race must prove itself worthy to be accepted among their galactic neighbors by restoring their own home world.
Space stations now hang in tender balance containing the cilivilians and military of the once habitable planet. Other alien species, anxious to see mankind fail, smuggle and sell outworld weapons technology, playing different human factions against one another in an effort to promote conflict.
This chapter of our story takes place aboard a group of stations in orbit above Egypt known as NeoCairo.

I remember playing this, some elements of this TC are actually kind of like the very original "Unreal" concept that Schmalz had before Tim and Cliff joined the team. We never got to see that game in practice, but old mesh editor on ms dos still includes strings from the game.
There were "robots" to choose from, the game was in-flight like descent or terminal velocity, pickups of weapons and upgrades and all kind of cool stuff before unreal was even called unreal and was running on ms dos.
I hope that one day that very prototype of Unreal gets to see the light of the day, we even saw the old directory contents without the directory. The main game executable was FIRE.EXE though alongside ED.EXE. Who knows what the full title used to be.
You make me curious about that considering I played this mod a lot and unreal a lot. I'm wondering what kind of crazy stuff they had in mind because as much as I like Unreal, I think the concept you are talking about seems to be much more original and different from the whole FPS and quake clones of the time.
Although Half Life pretty much killed the whole era of quake clones...

Best SP mod i've played so far with many vehicles (different engine) Its a shame that UT's engine isn't compatible with vehicles like Neo Cario
