    Front mudguard extensions for Trail

    Hi

I thought I saw somewhere on here, a clever use of aftermarket mudguard extenders to stop the crud flicking off the front wheel.

I think a small mudflap-cum-extension was fitted to both the front and back of the standard mudguard.

Does anyone have any specific details as to what works/fits, or did I dream it??

I previously posted an interim solution here: http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...d.php?t=125699

Thanks, Frodo, but the link isnt working.

    I knew I'd seen it!

Did you use a branded mudflap? If so, do you know the make/model number?

You're right. I can't get the link to work.

    Last time I wrote this:

Pegaso Trail low guard and crash bars

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is a picture of my bike with extensions on the low guard and with the crash bars I fitted.

I ended up modifying Givi crash bards for an XT660. This ended up being more work than I thought (given the Yam has the same engine). However, I think it was worth it. They offer much more protection than crash pads and look better and appear stronger than Hepco and Becker crash bars.

I simply added a normal soft mudflap to the lower part of by front guard ($7) and modified a mountainbike mud guard ($19) for the upper part of the lower guard. Cheap and effectivee (and I don't think that it looks that bad).

In case anyone is interested, I make a universal mudguard extension that can be used for the front and back of a fender / mudguard.
It has an integrated feature that allows you to adjust it's curvature to follow the profile of the tyre.

I tried a few ideas when I had my Strada but couldn't find anything I liked - not unless I paid silly money.

I've fitted mine (thanks) and I'll try and get some pics up here in the next week or so.

The rear one is great, but not sure the front one is long enough...

Here's my H&B engine bars and the mudflap thingamies bought from StradaStu. Not too impressed with the clearance on the front bit, so that may get ripped off at some point...

You can also just see where I've mounted the Stebel Nautilus Horn.

Oh, what fun I have with that....

...you Strada owners are all the same, anyhow...

    LOL

Sorry, I knew it was Strada-something-or-other....

    Embarrassed of Bucks

Oh, I should point out that I'm not impressed with the lack of space on the actual mudguard to mount the front bit, not the quality of the flappy thing! Darn good quality, but need a bigger one for the front, really.

    Hey no problem JB.

The funny thing is Strada_Photos who you bought them off doesn't even have a Pegaso any more, he sold out and bought some other brand. I didn't know there are other companies out there as well as Aprilia that make these motorised cycle thingies we all like.

It's funny but changing bikes still gave me the same issues with windblast & weather protection and lack of mud/grime protection.
The Ulysses does have more trick bits on it that I had/wanted to buy for the Strada though, like braided hoses, Hand guards, rear hugger and decent luggage system.
I now manufacture and sell a windshield adapter kit for the Ulysses that would work an absolute treat on the Pegaso but haven't worked out an easy solution to fix it to the cowl without major mods - still working on it though!
The screen and kit would be around £100 and would be much better than the current Aprilia item plus it would be adjustable for tilt angle and height.
More details when I have them.

Nice. Is the original front guard for the 04 Pegaso? Does this bolt straight on?
