STEPS star Lisa Scott-Lee has revealed she had to convince Michael Jackson to be a fan of the band – as she enjoyed an intimate dinner date with the late pop legend.

The singer, 41, admitted her dream guest at a Steps dinner party would be Michael following their surprise meeting in Bahrain.

Lisa confessed that Michael needed some persuasion when it came to listening to their hits, as she answered a viewer's question live on Dan Wootton's Facebook page.

She said: “I’ve had the pleasure of having dinner with one of mine and that was Michael Jackson and I actually had dinner with him in Bahrain. It was an incredible night.

“I basically got invited by the royal family over there for the F1 and at the time he was living there so I went for dinner at the palace, as one does, and he was there and we had dinner with Michael Jackson.

“I feel very lucky to have met him. He didn’t eat much; he wanted to talk about music all night and what was happening in the UK. He was lovely actually.

“He wasn’t a Steps fan but I made sure to introduce myself.”

The band, Claire Richards, Lee Latchford-Evans, Ian 'H' Watkins, Faye Tozer and Lisa, joined Bizarre editor Dan on Facebook in honour of their 20th anniversary comeback.

They came to Bizarre HQ for their first ever guest edit this week to announce the big music comeback, which will see the group release a new album for the first time in five years.

The stars joined up with Abba's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus on their new song Story Of A Heart.

Speaking about the track Claire said: "It’s a real classic typical Steps song. In fact all of our music was fun happy and cheerful, with a darkness and bitter sweet undertone.

"There are no ballads on the album at all. If you listen to it it’s definitely a Steps record. It’s been important for us to update it but not lose the essence of the original band."

Claire, who’s struggled with her body image over the years after fluctuating from a size 20 to 10, admitted that her weight troubles will always haunt her.

When asked how she maintains her slim figure she joked: "Anxiety.

"I take each day as it comes, it is something that I will probably never stop thinking about but I just think about it more properly now.

"I can't wait for the costumes, I'm going to go all out.

"I'm not going to get my body out though, I never really had the tummy for it anyhow."
