Thanks for posting. Keep it up to date. You might even want to post it as a seperate file for easier downloading or browsing.
What's interesting to note is the presence of 2 BD50 titles there: Click and Unforgiven. Click has a bitrate of 38.32Mbps on MPEG-2 and using up 42.92GB. Unforgiven has 17.12Mbps on VC-1 and using up 41.31GB. So the big question is what is eating up the space on Unforgiven on BD50? Certainly not TrueHD! fuad |

Reference Level Quality vs Codec chosen ?
This information also reveals the choice preference of the studio's, using mostly mpeg2 over the other options. Many here contended that VC1 was superior to mpeg2. From this list, which would be considered 'Reference Quality'? (for display purposes), and is the codec of the Reference Quality Movie also mpeg2 or VC1 ? Which are truly winners ? [Jim]

I'm not to familiar what a bit rate is, exactly.

a quick explanation would be the amount of data transferred over a given amount of time.

Okay
So the higher the bit rate the higher the quality?

I was wanting to see Omen's rate because it is not too hot IMHO, there are some bad instances of posterization
18.5 Mbps mpeg2 ain't gonna cut it for 1.85:1 films, 2.40:1 maybe Fox is screwing the pooch on these SL Mpeg2 releases, much worse than Sony(which I have little fault with) -Gary |
