Next month, Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release Margin Call on Blu-ray. Writer/director J.C. Chandor's look at the current American financial crisis, the film focuses on Peter Sullivan (Zachary Quinto, Star Trek), a young investment analyst who discovers some disturbing information about the financial company that employs him, information with far-reaching global implications.
This is certainly one of the better films of the year and is worth a purchase at some point. The writing and all the acting is first-rate: Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci and, especially, Jeremy Irons. And, yes, that was a surprisingly brief time between the theatrical to blu-ray releases.
It's not that surprising that it's being released so soon as it's one of those movies available on-demand the same day it's released in theaters. You don't usually have to wait that long for them. Not to mention, I'm sure the release date was already planned as they didn't expect the movie to do as well as it's doing. The movies you can rent at home instead of going to the movies to see rarely perform well at the box office.
