    Correct Clutch kit

Hello. I have an rsv mille factory 2004 model...................and i need a complete clutch kit (steel and fiber discs)

    I have checked that website
    http://www.apriliaparts.co.uk/?secti...clutch_i_7f33a

which states that mine and 05 models need the discs with part number ap8106867
but 06-08 have this part number ap0659800

And there is a huge difference in price.................

    Any suggestion?

Well, i have experienced hard gear changing with barnett, so i do not want to go on them

I want to stick with original equipment, but it seems so stupid, that aprilia has 2 part numbers for identical discs, and that there is a huge difference in price betwenn them

There are differences in the 06 and newer clutch disks because of a change they made to the spring retainer washers. See attached bulletin.

You can use the newer disks but you must also use the matching washers.

    Thanks amauri for the info.

As far as i can understand, the newer washers reduce the effort of the clutch disengage..................Have nothing to do with putting more pressure to the discs...........Am i missing something?

    My springs are barnett ones

The new washers reduce the preload on the springs, the new plates must be of a different friction material to avoid slipping with the reduced spring tension.

What's the result if I use a 2007 set of frictions and steels in my 2005 RSV without using the 'special' washers ($20 each here)? Is it just a slight increase in lever pressure? Can I do damage?

No, you cannot do damage. The new washers reduce spring pre-load. Using the thinner ones will mean greater pre-load. This might impair the slipper function somewhat but it will not damage any part of the clutch. You could achieve the same result by placing a 1.5mm washer under each of your existing washers. The OD would have to be no greater than the minor diameter of the original washers and they should be flat and of uniform thickness.
