CS5 - no ImageReady - how can I create animated gifs from a .mov file?

Hi, I used the older Photoshop many years ago. It used to have Image Ready which would let me open a .mov file, select a portion of the video, and create animated .gif from it.

We recently got Photoshop CS5 and it does not have Image Ready, it can open a .mov file but I cannot see any frames just the first frame. I have also tried Saving as Web product but that was only the first 500 frames (almost crashed my comp creating it) of the animated .gif, too smooth for what I needed, and again didn't let me go through the movie or select a small portion I wanted to create an animated .gif from.

Someone here must know how to do this.

Try clicking Window - Animation to open the Animation panel.

Ok, that seems to work. How would I edit the smoothness (frames per second)? Too smooth makes the file bigger than I would like (and I don't want to diminish the image quality)

Ok, never mind I have found out. If anyone is wondering you press the little drop down arrow on the top right of the animations window. Very small but it's there, then go to document settings.

Also after saving the .gif and opening again in photoshop you get the classic animation view.

Fireworks is still better for .gifs so I will stick to that for the final editing.
