Stage: Fukasawa Ocean HQ
who's stage Lady fukasawa
Animation:  The ocean is fluid dynamics (i'm proud of how it turned out)
                   The fukasawa battle flags blowing in the wind
The flags and plaque: the writing says 深沢班 fukasawa han (fukasawa clan/party)

stage done for my full game project.




ocean fluid dyanmics turned out very. well in future i'll do water this way.
the ocean has a slight jerk in end loop.

what will change in the full version
-the actual environment will change graphically
-there is a strange issue with tiling that causes some aspects of the stage to tile when a character is in motion.
-if i find a way to loop the ocean better I will although its not bad.

Stage has been tested in winmugen but it should work in 1.0

this is nice in your gif picture looks like your clouds isnt moving you could have had that move but what tool did you use for the water

no the clouds dont move, i didnt want them to in this stage. The ocean was done in the same 3d program i use to  create my characters and stages (autodesk maya) it was done with fluid dyanmics effects.

no the clouds dont move, i didnt want them to in this stage. The ocean was done in the same 3d program i use to  create my characters and stages (autodesk maya) it was done with fluid dyanmics effects.

If you want you can use this water tool that i use called Sqirlz Water Reflections but i do like the water you made but like you said it dont loop right you can check that program out if you want

yeh, i checked it out it seems pretty good for making reflections and puddle type water, whereas autodesk maya is better for generating different types of oceans.

this was my trial ocean you have full control over the behavior and foam emission too.

looks good but the water, i dislike the loop and the sky,it doesn't move or nothing.

the sky isn't going to move. realistic clouds do not slide across the screen or even appear to move that noticebly to our eyes, especially in a tornado enviroment

are you referring to the water ingame or what you see here in the posts because the water above is not the one i used.

As far as i see the water animation dont look bad but how many frames or images do you have for the water animation maybe you dont have enough frames or when you made the animation did you start from the first frame try starting some where in the middle for example if you have 1 - 50 frames try starting from  25 - 50 it may help the loop if these suggestions dont work then you going to have to find another way to make the animation loop
Maybe later on you could have stage switch between a calm and stormy weather look that would be awesome

i used 60 frames but I may increase the frame rate. Yeah in the final i plan on adding the actual tornado and lightening, if not that them definitely making a second version with a more angry sea.
