Hallo.
Sagt man :Ich arbeite als Lehrer in einer Schule
an einer Schule
oder bei einer Schule?
Gibt es vielleicht mehr Möglichkeiten?
Verben mit Präpositionen sind wirklich schwierig!!!:(

    "at a school" = "an einer Schule"
    "at school" = "in der Schule"

    Right? I mean "at school" in a very general sense, e.g. "At school I studied French" = "In der Schule habe ich Französisch studiert."

    So question: when do you use "an der Schule"? Is this when referring to a specific school, more concretely (i.e. less generally that "at school / in der Schule")? Example: "I'm meeting John at (the) school" = "Ich treffe mich mit John an der Schule"?

    And are there any other preposition-article combinations that go with Schule in other contexts? :)

    An der Schule is usually used if you refer to the institution, bei der Schule if you refer to the place.

    Remember: There are no consistent rules for every use of the prepositions, and there are exceptions to every rule.
