Hi im working on a map,

Ive had no problems with it compiling up until now, but when i compile my map now it loads in sof2 but i get the following error spamming up in the console

WARNING - RE:AddPolyToScene: Null Poly Shader

And ALL the models in the map now have no skins and appear in grey and white as if all the shaders are missing. With some models either not appearing or flashing on and off every 2 seconds or so.

Any Ideas? my map is like 97% complete so im a bit disheartened by yet another problem....

Thats definatly a shader issue, and upon checking the common mapping errors link on the tutorials block, you recieve this...

Usually an error with a shader which you need to find, it can prove difficult, you have to move custom pk3 files one by one into a temp folder and then see if you still get the error, when you dont get the error you will know what pk3 file to look in and look for the broken shader you have made.

This my seem like alot of work, but I would recommend the exact opposite, remove all custom pk3's, and then try it... this way you can make sure it is indeed a pk3 issue, and not a *.shader issue in your base\shaders folder first... If it works good with all the custom pk3's missing, then you can add them back in to find the offender instead...

Also, to be noted is that you can work from a totally seperate clean install from the one you use to go online with, but thats only if you have the hard drive space to spare...

might not be an issue with shaders at all. I was getting this, and I found that it was something to do with the surface lightmaps being set up on static objects in the map like models and func_static brushes. There must be some sort of datasize u can go voer, and this error pops up. I have my lightmapscale turned right down most of the time, for finer shadows, on a recent map I was getting smae add polly problem and the grey models, by turning my lightmapscale from 0.01 to 0.5 it compiled fine, exact same shaders. At one point not only the models were going, but all my func_static brushes went crazy too, I still get a problem with the occasional brush 'disapearing' like ill see it, its there, in the map, i go round the corner, come back, its gone lol. But ya, if uve edited ur lightmap scale bring it a little closer to par again, if your using a load of static models, use less, see if it works. If u dont care about ur lightmap lookin rubbish, try setting lightmapscale to 2 maybe, itll look rubbish but might solve the issue if nothing else does.
