I love Trooper's style of writing, it absolutely enthralls me. But this particular book didn't hit me as hard as "The Book of Joe" did.
It was one-dimensional, repetitive and the characters all lacked real depth. I understand the idea of being emotionally closed-off and not discussing your feelings but as someone else put in their review, the subject of grief really was absolutely vacant in this book.
Overall I'm really happy I read it, I love the author and I plan to read everything he has ever written.
