A Mutator that re-balances the lower tier weapons in Unreal Tournament 2004 in order to make them more competitive.
I felt that the lower tier weapons in UT2004 were very underpowered. Being stuck with an assault rifle or bio-rifle, for instance, is pretty much a death sentence against someone using a flak cannon or rocket launcher -- no matter how good you are. Knowing this, I rebalanced these weapons to make play more forgiving with these weapons.
Features:
- Rebalanced Assault Rifle: Increased damage and made the grenades explode on contact with walls or ground (or when they reach their normal 2-second time limit).
- Rebalanced Bio-Rifle: Increased damage, increased rate of fire, decreased charge time.
- Rebalanced Shock Rifle: Increased rate of fire.
- Rebalanced Minigun: Increased rate of fire and slightly decreased damage. Net damage output is the same but the faster fire rate makes the weapon easier to handle.
Before Installation:
Download and install WinRar (shareware) to extract the files in the supplied archive.
Installation Instructions:
Download this archive and extract the files into your UT2004\System folder. For retail users, that's usually C:\UT2004\System. For Steam users, it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\unreal tournament 2004\System. That's it! The mutator should now show up under your list of mutators when starting a game.
Server Administrators:
Players joining your server will not be able to join your server unless you add this mutator to your server packages (unless they already have it, of course). To enable download functionality, add the following line to your System\UT2004.ini under the [Engine.GameEngine] heading: ServerPackages=MutBalancedWeapons. It does not have to be listed last, but it should be listed after all of the packages that come with the game.

It conflicts with Explosive Ammo. (http://www.christopherschultz.net/projects/ut2k4)
*sadface*
Trigger on hit assault grenade is really a good idea, though.
For compatibility reasons I would be happy with a simple higher damage for low-tier weapons mutator. Or some solution that does not mess with ammunition. Because if someone is doing that, one could also implement damage-over-time for biosludge for the fun, right?
