Insomniac Games has unveiled its upcoming Ratchet & Clank game that is based on the original game, but instead of being a simple “HD” version, the studio says this is more of a “re-imagining” of the 2002 original.

The PlayStation 4 version of Ratchet & Clank is a completely new game that has elements based on the original title, but with modern controls, several new planets to adventure to, new and updated gameplay segments, new boss fights, new flight sequences, all-new Clank gameplay, and more.

The game will also include changes to Ratchet’s arsenal of weapons that weren’t included in the original game which will allow him to blast enemies with both new weapons and fan-favorite ones from the Ratchet & Clank Future series. One such new weapon, called the Pixelizer, transforms enemies into explosive 8-bit pixels, while franchise favorites like the Groovitron and Mr. Zurkon will make their return.

Insomniac Games is also offering an exclusive Bouncer weapon to those who pre-order Ratchet & Clank, which was a studio favorite from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando. The Bouncer launches a bomb that releases a plethora of small homing bombs that bounce towards its target, which sounds pretty devastating.

Ratchet & Clank is expected to release in spring 2016 along with its animated feature film.
