Rpg_
So I was looking at www.grandtheftauto5.com and realized that the WHOIS was by Rockstar Games. So then if you look at the DNS IP it is 38.126.9.134. I decided to look at all the other websites hosted on that block. I went to http://www.robtex.com/ip/38.126.9.134.html So a list of website's load up if you go there. Some that caught my eye were: babehardcore.combaitman.combicyclecommuter.com (possibly ride bikes again?)boobstop.comcaliforniahomesbyowner.com (california setting?)carolinabrokers.com (not sure what the relation to carolina would be)cookinganything.comcouchparty.comdrcarlton.comedrugs.comfamouszone.comf*ckyew.comgetamexican.comindepthappraising.comjustcanoe.comloadoffmymind.compregnantandalone.commajorflava.com (possible radio station)myrtlebeachattorney.com (Carolina?)outrageouslife.comsexomy.comstacysmail.comthebetter.com { Possible Group/Gang }themaniacs.com { Possible Group/Gang } thetangible.com { Possible Group/Gang } thewhitefox.com { Possible Group/Gang }westernescapes.com (Westcoast setting?)whattheysay.com A lot of those domains sound like something that Rockstar would use. If you look at the WHOIS for most of them, they were registered long ago. It is possible they had a lot of this planned out in advance. I analyzed them to the best of my knowledge and maybe someone on here can contribute to this thread with their opinion. Edit: I messed up the thread description and wrote For GTAIV instead of For GTA V. If a mod can change that then that would be cool. Kirsty
Some very good finds! I've looked up using your method the domains that were first registered (sixfiguretemps.com etc) and there are lots of domains on their IPs that could fit GTA ... but some lead to real websites so I wouldn't be so sure they are ALL registered by R*. That was a good idea on your part. A lot of those are also blank domains. americangarageband.com newgreengrove.com [remember orange grove in SA?] and there's a bunch more on the same IP as sixfiguretemps.com so maybe we have something here. Nothing in this thread is to be taken for granted - it is all theory/rumor that is backed up with some good points.

Rpg_
Are we able to see if they did this with previous GTA games? Well, what Rockstar will do is when the game comes out, they will put the domain on the same nameservers as all of their other domains. For example: http://who.is/whois/grandtheftauto4.com/ that is the official domain for GTA IV. If you look at the DNS, it has the ip of 63.236.94.38 and that's all on their main block (see: http://www.robtex.com/ip/63.236.94.38.html) Grandtheftauto5.com will be moved to that block but not at the moment since it's too early and the game isn't due for release yet. Sorry if this sounds complicated to any of you. What my best guess is: They make up a bunch of domains beforehand and then when the game is about to come out, they will select a few handful and put them inside the game via in-game web browser or radio and the rest of them won't get chosen and will be discarded. GTA 360
Very nice find! Have 5 of these. The one that catches my eye the most is bicyclecommuter.com, maybe there will be bikes in GTA V.
Toup
@Spider-Vice Indeed, that's why he searched for other domains that have a connection with it. Rockstar created Gta5 domain long time ago ( they even have Gta6 and 7 domain already registred ) in my opinion what they do is updating the domains but not creating new ones, i'm talking about the "Main" domains.
