Stretch of Main Street to be remade with Public Utilities project
A strip of aging, partially vacant downtown buildings will be demolished and replaced with a large public utilities garage and possibly retail space under tentative plans by Sleepy Eye’s Public Utilities Commission.The commission, which oversees the city-owned electric and water utilities, bought the brick storefronts at 220 and 216 Main St.
