Life will never be normal with Covid passports

We’ve become too keen on being told what to do and should make a stand against a future of form-checking and fear

Get vaccinated, Matt Hancock tells the young, “do your bit” to protect Granny. To which the under-30s might angrily reply: have you missed all our other “bits”, like paying £9,000 for online universities, toiling in tiny flats, the loneliness? And anyway, it’s months before we can get jabs.

Besides calling upon young people’s altruism, the government is preying on their Fomo (fear of missing out) by waving Covid certificates. Imagine your mates being allowed into clubs, sports stadia, even pubs — but not you!
