PERSONAL BIO:
Born February 1, 1992 – Hiiro Zaké Sigal Prince was always a different kind of being. Growing up with mental health challenges and an old soul from the get go, his intuition and awareness was wise beyond his early years. This proved to him that he had an interesting journey awaiting his future. Hiiro was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada and grew up with his parents and his older Brother in Kerrisdale.
Hiiro was a true video gamer and spent most of his life investing 12hrs daily into the true ‘universe’ he always (and still presently) sees his everyday perspective through. He was fully inactive and had no health-consciousness in every respect and this brought him to weighing 180lb at 5’2″at age 12!
Through Hiiro’s image transformation, which also involved the embracing of his own sexuality and identity, he found his love of self-expression/creativity through visual/performing arts and Men’s fashion/image/style and all things retail focused. There was never a dull moment whenever he would enter a store and spend hours analyzing their business model, sales and customer service experience, merchandising and buying and brand integrity.
In 2003 at the age of 15, his older brother Zach was diagnosed with A.L.L. (Acute Lymphocytic Leukaemia, Stage 4 Blood Cancer) and battled courageously until August 10th, 2005. When Zach was still alive, Hiiro decided to shave his head and raise money/awareness for Adolescents Living with Blood Cancer through Balding for Dollars and successfully raised enough funding to create the Zach Prince Foundation which has been able to provide dedicated resources/tools/training/facilities for other’s living with what Zach did. Hiiro realized that his life was extremely short, that everything he was doing for himself was only going to result in chronic obesity and life-debilitating health concerns.
This is where the beginning of Hiiro’s True Identity Movement Project began, by him losing 45lbs in 7 months through a complete 180º overhaul of his exercise, diet, nutrition, wellness and lifestyle. It was initially through a love of the video game Dance Dance Revolution that Hiiro had the cardio outlet for burning fat/calories which in 2006-2010 bloomed into short/long distance running through his High School years via competitive/recreational Track & Field.
With the rise of the mainstream yoga community growing, Hiiro kept hearing the term/activity and he decided to try the new Nintendo Wii Fit Yoga when it launched- integrating the stretching into his cool down from running. This inspired Hiiro to attend public studio classes and eventually he began teaching Yoga in late 2012, Spin in 2015 and Mat Pilates July 2016 in order to provide a well-rounded and intuitive movement platform for his students.
To date he has completed over 1200hrs (including his 2nd 200hr and 40hr Ayurveda Yoga Training through Karma Teachers) of Teacher Training and Continuing Education and always will be a student and work in progress. He also completed his crystal bowl sound healing with Colin Hillstrom and Jikiden Reiki training with Meltem Oner-Legros in Summer 2019
Hiiro is also a Restorative Yoga Teacher Trainer and provides public classes & workshops in Restorative, Yin and Therapeutic Gentle Yoga.
Hiiro is not currently teaching publicly at this time, he is available for events, community engagements and partnership opportunities.

PROFESSIONAL BIO:
Hiiro entered the lifestyle of Yoga and self-development at an early age and started teaching in 2013. His experience includes 1200+ hours of yoga, pilates, indoor cycling, Jikiden Reiki, sound healing, bodywork and massage.
His authentic, unconventional and out of the box classes are suitable for all-levels and tend to be more down to earth, therapeutic, self-reflective, cathartic and rehabilitative than yoga classes you may have attended before. He teaches a full 8 limbed practice with the least emphasis being on the asana (physical practices) and more on the other 7 non-physical limbs for a full spectrum experience. Hiiro loves using props to educate, enhance and support safe and effective practices and offering hands-on adjustments when necessary.
In Hiiro’s Yin/Yang class you never know what each class will include. Yang will vary from gentle/active hatha to slow/fluid vinyasa flow/power whereas Yin will incorporate traditional and active yin/restorative postures combined with optional self-massage release work with balls and wood dowels. Meditation, pranayama and additional non-physical limbs of yoga are also integrated into all Hiiro’s class styles.
His approach to pilates classes are precise, breath and alignment focused mixed with a sassy and light-hearted humour. These classes are higher intensity, lower impact with props fusing standing and floor exercises with yoga-inspired elements. In Hatha, Flow/Power, Yin, Restorative classes Hiiro applies the same approaches while honouring the traditional intentions of each lineage, educating his students on their respective importances.
His genuine and spontaneous free spirited nature makes for ever changing sequencing, playlists, and classes that are always inclusive and individualized. Hiiro meets his students where they’re at by adapting to their bodies skeletal variation, alignment and range of motion. His heartfelt alternative approach to yoga is sure to challenge you to think outside of your comfort zone, encourage you to be receptive to change, slow down and be humble and ready to dig deep and become a better version of yourself.
Most importantly, his classes will mentally, spiritually and physically challenge you and they will require you to let go and release. They encourage you to feel and heal deeply within and support you to face your ‘true identity.’ (This may not resonate for people seeking a traditional physical fitness exercise experience.)
Be prepared to leave your ego at the door when you practice with Hiiro! He looks forward to sharing your light and embracing everyone’s true identity!
He also joined forces with the Westin Bayshore’s #YogaWestin program as part of their well-being initiative in Summer 2015-2017 where he lead private/exclusive classes for Guests/Staff within the hotel. Hiiro is also a certified SCHWINN Indoor Cycling Teacher with 25hrs Group Fitness Theory from CanFitPro, completed his Level 1 and 2 of PRYT with Shivani Wells (Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy.)
Hiiro’s hard at work establishing a universal brand which integrates education through community. He never identifies with being titled as a “teacher” and always instead as a passionate student constantly becoming a better version of himself.
He is grateful for the education he has been able to acquire from his teachers/mentors including: Mike Nichols, Chris Manansala, Genieve Burley, Nicole Marcia, Elle Bryson, Jan Sloan.
Outside of his yoga practice and teaching, Hiiro enjoys his spare time pursuing his passion for athleisure products/brands, photography, creative writing and visual/performing arts, spin classes, guzzling matcha oat milk lattès from Starbucks, wearing an awesome pair of Vessi Footwear & DU/ERs and indulging in reality TV and the occasional childhood video game session.
He cares deeply for his community, building and establishing new relationships and is always wearing a smile on his face with arms wide-open to give the universe a hug.
Hiiro has been a 2 time presenter for the Yogathon Vancouver in 2015 and 2016 and was a presenter at the first Vancouver Yoga Expo 2016! He was also celebrated and recognized by http://www.worldyoganews.com as one of 2016’s TOP TEN leading Yoga Teachers internationally for his VGMY: Vancouver Gay Men’s Yoga.
He most recently presented at the 2018 Victoria Yoga Conference in Victoria BC, Pride Sports Day with YYoga/Vancouver Pride Society, Lululemon Lila Summer Series and UNITE Soul Journeys on NYE 2018. He looks forward to future presentation opportunities in the future!

Nurture. Restore. Explore!
“I equate Yoga/Well-Being/Lifestyle to many descriptions… one being that it is purely a simple continuous point of focus without distraction absolutely anything aside that one point. Your physical body is a vehicle for the spirit, heart and mind to channel through. Your body is a gas tank and your breath is the gas that fuels the engine. Nothing more. Nothing less.”

– Hiiro Zaké Sigal Prince
