Herbie Hancock

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my music site. I’ve spent many years playing in the blues joints and stages around the country. Now, the music I prefer to make takes a more global approach. I do hope you enjoy it!

Discography

After being mostly a blues musician for years, touring the country, I decided it was time to explore other ways of making music---loops, sound bytes, poets, and random found sounds from daily life. I've studied West African music over the past eight years, so there are plenty of ethnic-infused rhythms on all these discs as well.

RhythmMusic Vol. 2

My favorite part of this disc is the use of my friends who have mental challenges such as autism and schizophrenia. I do lots of rhythm-based programs with these groups and it has been my dream to truly "collaborate" with them. They are true artists with no inhibitions and I love them.

Scalici-Alley Project

Welcome to the music of the Scalici Alley Project. What you are hearing is a product of my collaboration with trumpeter, Rob Alley. A journey in sound, groove, spoken word…and lots of improvisation.
