After all those years we still only have the 1/144 variant.

Any news about the definitive 1/72 kit so needed and wanted by all of us ?

Cheers

Michael

He's right - where is the 1/72 R-5? Here's a page from 2009 (!) referring to an even earlier kit, supposedly by South Front, which also was never released. Did AMG get the masters when South Front went out of business, or is the AMG kit completely new? Either way, we still want a good, accurate 1/72 R-5!

Yes, please! The R-5 was a significant Soviet aircraft, with thousands built, and it was used extensively in the early part of the Great Patriotic War, in addition to seeing use in the Winter War. A new-mould kit of this would be greatly appreciated, and you would have at least one buyer (of multiple kits) in me.

Best Regards,

Do not forget also Khalkin Gol and  Sanish Civil War use of R-5. BTW, "Natasha" quoted in topic of this thread is a SCW name for R-Z, not R-5..

You are correct, J-W. I believe the Spanish name for the R-5 was 'Rasante'.

I absolutely agree John. Plus an accurate injection moulded R-Z, with correct length and chord lower wings, or an aftermarket correction kit for that and a few other iinaccuracies in an otherwise nice Azur/Special Hobby kit

As far as I know, haven’t we had just the same injection moulded 1/72 R-5 kit reboxed over and over again for 5 decades or more, then a very early vac form/injection hybrid by MPM that was quite good, maybe a completely vac form kit too; but no new fully injection moulded or resin kit?

Hi Tony! Good to see you back again! The only other kits I can think of are high-quality resins by Airkit in Russia. There was an ARK-5 and maybe an R-Z, but whether these are still available, I don't know. He previously did an R-5 or R-Z as a vacuform, but that was a long time ago.

Folks everyone must buy at least three of this kit so that they'll bring out the limousine and ambulance versions plus the float and ski stuff !!

Can't wait for this.
