"Myrkur" is Icelandic for "darkness".
While Myrkur was born in Denmark, she began making music under this name in the United States. As of 2017 she has moved back to Denmark.
She played her debut show at the Danish Roskilde Festival on July 4th, 2015. Her live band also features members of Det Norske Jentekor ("The Norwegian Girl's Choir").
