Rude Tube’s Alex Zane gets engaged to Poldark star Aidan Turner’s stunning ex Nettie Wakefield
HE has dated Emma Willis, Sarah Harding, Pixie Geldof and Sadie Frost – but only now has Alex Zane found someone to settle down with.
The Rude Tube presenter has been seeing artist Nettie Wakefield — Aidan Turner’s stunning ex — since late last year and has popped the question.
Nettie was previously linked to Twilight’s Robert Pattinson but is set to tie the knot with Alex after a whirlwind romance.
A source said: “Alex has been knocked for six since meeting Nettie and has fallen head over heels.
“He’s completely smitten and soon realised he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.”
Alex admitted recently that boozing on nights out did not fulfil him and that he has said goodbye to his party-boy past.
He said: “It wasn’t a period when I was particularly happy, I don’t think anything good came from that period.
I wasn’t enjoying the shows I was making.
“Even though I had the body of a 25 or 26-year-old, mentally I was quite immature.
“When I do get time off now, the happiest I am is when I finish a DVD box set, because it means I have found time to watch 13 hours of TV.”
Just maybe give Poldark or the Twilight films a swerve.

Kate's up for custard
Kate Garraway is already getting in the World Cup mood.
Ahead of yesterday’s thrashing of Saudi Arabia by hosts Russia in the curtain-raiser, she recreated David Baddiel and Frank Skinner’s Three Lions moment from the 1996 video.
The Good Morning Britain presenter grabbed a melon and dipped her arm in custard to mimic the trophy, as the comics did in their video. Kate made such a mess, getting co-host Sean Fletcher involved, she had to go off and change, much to the amusement of Susanna Reid.
I hope it’s not the closest an English household name gets to holding the trophy in Russia . . .

Nicola's quitting the Cobbles
LONG-SUFFERING Nicola Rubinstein’s played a huge part in Corrie’s dramatic Pat Phelan storyline.

But the actress who plays her, Nicola Thorp, has revealed her character’s trip to the West Country isn’t just a well-deserved break.
Confirming she’s also quitting the soap, she posted a video on Twitter in which she said: “I’ve had the most incredible year at Corrie.
“To be involved in Phelan’s demise has been an absolute treat and I hope you’ve all been enjoying it as much as I enjoyed filming it.

Curry favour
TAKING tips from head judge Mary Berry paid off for medical technician Pippa Middlehurst, who was last night crowned winner of BBC1 show Britain’s Best Home Cook.
Pippa made a Mary-inspired mango and raspberry cake for dessert with an Ox cheek Massaman curry for main.
Afterwards Pippa said: “I honestly can’t believe it.
“I don’t know how this happened.
“I never thought I could win this and I’m only here because of my boyfriend Christian. It means a lot because he believed in me and I didn’t believe in myself.
“I’m really proud of myself.” Mary told her: “I think you’re an inspiration to all cooks at home. And that boyfriend of yours is very lucky.”
And well fed.
